The first Fun Fly competition took place last weekend, and was very well attended by a good number of entrants and enthusiastic supporters!

The next event is the first powered glider competition, which is also popular, as most club members have a suitable aircraft. This is planned for Sunday, 3rd May, so hope to see you there. Peter’s rules are as below.

Club Power Glider 1 Competition 2026
Will take place on Sunday 3rd May weather permitting with Registration from 1:30pm with a view to starting the competitions at 2:00pm
Eligibility
Any sized Electric or I.C. powered glider or flying wing
Climb and Glide Round 1
Will be a mass launch total aircraft to be determined on the number of competitors the day, the rounds may need to be split into two groups because of the numbers taking part
Hand-launch your model, (helpers can be used to launch your model) on the first blast of the whistle launch the model and climb for 30 seconds, shut off your motor on the second long blast of whistle, then glide for as long as possible, your overall time stops when your model first touches down on the patch, longest time wins
Spot landing Round 2
Individual round Hand-launch your model, climb for as long as you like then land as near as possible to the target on the patch, nearest the spot wins, the use of your motor/engine is permitted right up to touch down but no sliding along the ground to the target will be permitted
