The second Glider Competition of the year went ahead today as planned. There was a reasonable turnout of members, with 5 competitors and three spectators. It was a warm and sunny day, but the wind was a bit of a problem, being very variable in both speed and direction.

The first round was the 20 second climb and glide. Robert found a patch of lift at the end of his motor run and won the round with a time of 5 minutes 45 secs.

In the spot landing, Richard L. won the round with an impressive 1.7m off the spot in tricky conditions.

After totting up the scores for both rounds Richard was declared the day’s winner.

Overall, it was another extremely enjoyable afternoon, so many thanks to Peter and Richard for the day’s organisation and refreshments.

The next competition day is the second Fun Fly day, planned for the 2nd July but obviously dependent on the day’s weather forecast.
