Club Fun Fly Competition Round 1 &2
Will take place on Sunday 12th April and 2nd August 2026 weather permitting. Registration from 1:30pm with a view to starting the competitions at 2:00pm
Eligibility
That’s any powered aircraft capable of completing the BMFA A certificate, the same a model must be used for each round, if in the event of a catastrophic event a substitute can be used if agreed with the competition director
Round 1: Climb and Glide
Take off climb for 30 seconds then glide for as long as you can and land on the patch, the time starts when your wheels leave the ground, at 30 seconds on a blast of the whistle you must stop your motor/engine then glide for the maximum time you can and land on the patch, the time will stop the moment your wheels first touch the patch or ground, longest time wins
Round 2: Spot Landing
Take off and fly a minimum of 1 circuit and land on the patch as close as you can to the target marked out, you can use your motor/engine all the way to the landing, measurement will be taken from where your wheels first touchdown, closest to the spot wins
Round 4: Touch and Go’s in two minutes
Take off and carry out as many touch and goes as you can in 2 minutes, time starts when your wheels leave the ground, a touch & go only counts on the patch once, you must go around again to start each touch and go, most completed in the time wins. In the event of more than one competitor with the same amount of touch & goes the one who completed then in the shortest time wins the round
Round 5: Triple Thrash (if time allows)
Take off carry out 3 rolls, 3 loops and 3 touch and goes and land, the one who completes all 3 manoeuvers in the shortest time wins. You can carry them out in any order, mix them up any way you like but you can’t do a touch and go and stop on last touch and go, if you choose touch and go’s as your last manoeuver you must go around again then land. Time starts from your wheels leaving the ground and stops when your wheels first touchdown on the patch or ground when landing.
The Scores
At the end of each round the scores will be counted each round winner will score 1 dependent on the number taking part in the event if say 15 flyers taking part the one in last place scores 15 plus any penalty points,
Failure to complete the round will incur penalty points this will be your round position plus 5 penalty points added to your score
