Our next Club Event will be the Aerobatics Competition, to be held on the 7th June weather permitting. Peter C. will be running the event, as detailed below:-
Aerobatics Competition 2026
Planned to run on Sunday 7th June Registration from 1:30pm with planned start 2:00pm
Eligibility
Any powered aircraft capable of completing the BMFA A certificate
Rules
One attempt only is allowed at any of the maneuvers and they must be carried out in the correct order as listed below
Competitors are allowed a caller to announce the maneuvers; the competitor must be the one to call NOW at the start of each maneuver and FINISHED at its completion
All to be carried out in clear view of the judges
Order of maneuvers
- Horizontal Eight
- Inside Loop
- Two consecutive Rolls carried out either up or down wind or one roll one way up or down wind followed by another roll in the opposite direction
- Stall Turn carried out into wind along the flight line
- Split S or Reversal
- Immelmann Turn
- Normal or Reversed Cuban 8
Scores
Scores will be judged on the accuracy of each maneuver as the judges score sheet, scores will be added together giving a final competition score and overall position, highest score becomes our overall winner, each competitor’s position in the competition will be scored and points awarded will be added the overall club championship
