Flying operational times

The site is open 7 days a week and flying times are:
Monday – 8am till Dusk
Tuesday – 8am till Dusk
Wednesday – 8am till Dusk
Thursday – 8am till Dusk
Friday – 8am till Dusk
Saturday – 8am till Dusk
Sunday – 10am electric or 12pm IC till Dusk

Visitors

We welcome non-members to come along for three test flights, watch the flying or just talk about the hobby. Visitors who hold BMFA valid BMFA insurance and CAA registration are welcome to fly with us as a guest to a Brighouse member who is required to also be in attendance.

To come along for a test flight get in touch with us and we will arrange the club trainer or a committee member to meet you at our field

Parking

Parking is to the left hand side of the gate as you enter the field. Please be aware there is a dip by the fence and not to drive into it (Colin). Upon entering the field please do not drive to the pits/flight-line, go directly to the parking area.

At times you choose to not park in the field due to winter weather or for any other reason. Please act responsibly and park on the main road (Highmoor Lane / Walton Lane) taking care not to block the slip road and access to Jay House Lane or the field gates.

The grid reference can be found on the club sign on the main gate. It can be helpful to write this down and keep it on your person at times when you may be at the field alone.

First aid kit
Located in the storage bin, if you use any items in it please let the Safety Officer or a Committee Member know so that we can replace it.

Site flying rules

All pilots should adhere to the rules and guidelines as described in the BMFA Handbook as well as the local Brighouse Model Aircraft Club specific flying site rules as described in full.

All pilots must have self checked their model(s) for airworthiness, or sought assistance, before attempting to fly. Remember, the BMFA motto states, “Safe Flying is no Accident” and that the rules are there to ensure the safety of club members and members of the public. Before flying please familiarise yourself with the club flying site rules.
